Workshop on ‘Developing Learning Outcome Based Curriculum’ held in the Department of English

The self-assessment committee of the Department of English under IQAC, Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a workshop titled ‘Developing Learning Outcome Based Curriculum’ on 7 December 2017 at the Digital Classroom of Daffodil Tower of the University. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Mark James Bartholomew, Advisor, Mobility & Quality Assurance, DIU.

Professor A. M.M. Hamidur Rahman, Dean of Faculty of Humanities & Social Science (FHSS) Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director, IQAC; and Dr. Sk. Abdul Kader Arafin, Additional Director of IQAC, DIU were present in the meeting as distinguished guests. Dr. Md. Mohoshin Reza, Head of the Department of English chaired the whole session of the workshop. The faculty members of the English Department participated in the workshop.

In his two hour long workshop, Dr. Bartholomew discussed some characteristics of ‘SMART’ course objectives. The faculty members got clear idea and strategies for developing and implementing the learning outcome-based curriculum of the Department of English of the University. After his deliberation, all the participants worked together to produce some appropriate objectives for their respective courses. At the end of the program, a crest was handed over to the Resource Person Dr. Bartholomew, jointly by Dr. Sk. Abdul Kader Arafin, Additional Director of IQAC, DIU and Dr. Md. Mohoshin Reza, Head, English Department, DIU.
