External Peer Review of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication held at Daffodil International University

Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Daffodil International University arranged External Peer Review Program of its Self-Assessment Report and activities under IQAC, DIU during 9 August to 11 August, 2016. Dr. Fay Patel, Former Director, Education management, Monash University played the key role as foreign external quality assurance expert. Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Rahman, University of Dhaka played his role as local Subject Expert while Prof. Dr. Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, Department of English, Islamic University conducted peer review as local quality expert.

The External Peer Review Team met with the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Exams, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Director, IQAC, DIU, Representative of BoT, International Department, Librarian, departmental faculty members and non-academic employees, some of the existing students, alumni, parents and employers during the three-day external peer review process.

They also visited physical facilities and extra-curricular activities of the entity. Peer reviewers were satisfied with the activities in the Department and documentation systems and found out some spaces for improvement. They submitted a summary exit report to the Director, IQAC, DIU at the end of their 3-day peer review. The Departmental Self Assessment Committee comprising Syed Mizanur Rahman, Head; Dr. Shah M. Nister Jahan Kabir, Member and Mr. Muhammed Rashedul Hasan, Member of the committee provided full cooperation to the external peer reviewers in conducting the departmental peer review.
